Andrew was born in Fredericton, raised in Sussex and the youngest of four children. While growing up he learned all about community and family values while tending to the family hobby farm. After graduating from Sussex High School, he discovered his love for helping his community in their time of need and became a paramedic.
Over the past two decades, Andrew has been employed in both the private and public sector as a paramedic; currently with Ambulance New Brunswick, stationed in Harvey. He joined the Harvey Fire department in 2002 where he currently holds the rank of Captain. Andrew has also been awarded Exemplary Service Medals from the Governor General of Canada in both Emergency Medical and Fire Services.
In addition, Andrew has experience with the Union as well, as he has served in multiple positions over the years. His most recent, and senior position was provincial President for CUPE Local 4848. During that time he worked on many committees to improve both the working conditions for paramedics, as well as the service provided in our rural communities. Andrew currently holds the titles of Western Region Safety Coach, a Critical Incident Stress Peer Support member and finally, Fredericton Junction District’s Joint Health and Safety Rep for Ambulance New Brunswick.
Andrew met Melodie, the love of his life, and they married in 2000. Together they moved to Harvey where they currently reside and raise seven children. Andrew and Melodie have involved all their children in many community activities, such as Girl Guides, Vacation Bible School, and baseball to name a few.
Andrew’s devotion has always been and remains to that of his community. To ensure our community is safe, viable and sustainable to all who call this area home.
