Proposed By-Law 2025-04: Code of Conduct for Elected Officials
Harvey Rural Community Council intends to consider the enactment of By-law 2025-04, “A By-law Establishing a Code of Conduct for Elected Officials,” at its next regular meeting on Monday, May 12, 2025. This process is in accordance with Regulation 2024-48 under the Local Governance Act (SNB 2017, c.17).
The proposed by-law will apply to all Members of Council and is designed to set clear standards for the conduct of elected officials in their roles and responsibilities. Members’ conduct is governed not only by municipal by-laws and policies but also by applicable provincial and federal legislation.
